Whitcombe
Lavender Cottage is located in the pretty
hamlet of Whitcombe. The ancient hamlet consists of a 12th
Century Church, a large farmhouse, 2 tithe barns and half
a dozen stone thatch cottages.
Whitcombe nestles in a valley 2 miles south of Dorchester
and 5 miles from the World Heritage Coast. It is in the
heart of Thomas Hardy`s Wessex where you can enjoy numerous
activities such as walking, horseriding and fishing.

Indoors
Relax
in the cosy sitting room by the open fire. (Coal and logs
are available from October to April).
Also
in the sitting room are a television, video player and a
small library. The library is home to a wealth of literary
information, including copies of Thomas Hardy novels and
poetry, and many books of local interest.
The flagstone floored kitchen with a separate dining area,
includes a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.
The cottage style bathroom has a bath and electric shower.
Upstairs the three bedrooms, all have lovely views. The
cottage can sleep up to 6 people. There is cot and highchair
available.
Beds are made up by the Housekeeper before your arrival
and towels, heating and electricity are included in the
price.

Outside
The garden is
fenced and walled with a five bar gate entrance. It is laid
to lawn for children to play. There are fruit trees, herbaceous
border and barbeque. There is a stone patio with robust
garden furniture for eating outside.
There is ample parking, with space for 3 cars.
